Movie Case Conceptualization Paper (50pts.): Select and watch a movie from the provided list related to a crisis situation. After your review, develop a case conceptualization in a paper format (using APA style) answering the questions outlined at the end of the assignment details. You are developing a case outlining your knowledge of crisis awareness and intervention strategies. Students of no more than three (3) are free to partner on this assignment (Notify me of your groups ASAP). If you work together in a group, please be aware and intentional in your paper development. Create a smooth flow and transition between topics. There are writing tips available in your syllabus and in the pages tab here in canvas. Get creative in your approach. (If you prefer individual work, let me know ASAP).
(1) Identify who is in crisis (may be more than one, but primary one),
(2) The nature of the crisis (discuss whether the response is developmentally appropriate),
(3) The course of the crisis and an initial diagnosis. In other words, what causes the crisis (if it is known)? When does the individual first recognize the crisis? Also consider how the crisis is impacting individuals during the crisis course (progression).
(4) Using the seven steps of crisis intervention, apply a crisis intervention model- ABC Model of Crisis Intervention).
(5) Identify potential resources needed,
(6) Discuss the person’s attempts at coping with the crisis,
(7) Identify potential issues that might need to be addressed if the person is referred for counseling (and explain why).
A minimum of three peer-reviewed, recent (within the last 10 years) journal articles are required to support aspects of the paper/case. The articles can speak to the intervention model, or any aspect of the crisis identified within the movie.
