CLASS PAPER REQUIREMENTS:
2. You must use APA style for citation purposes, double-spacing and twelve-point font for the text AND include both a separate title sheet and a separate “Works Cited” sheet using APA style for your sources for the articles, titles, authors, and dates. Citations from your article and book must cite the relevant page number of the article or book with relevant author/s. Use APA style for citation purposes and twelve-point font for the text.  Check your APA style at:  http://guides.kirkwood.edu/citation/APA
3. You must also make one (relatively brief) reference to related material in the Scott, Carter & Drury textbook.
4. You must use briefer quotations instead of long blocks of text from the paper: “Summarize briefly” does NOT mean “quote huge chunks from somebody’s discussion.” At least eighty percent of the paper must be in your own words.
5. For the final paper you must include an introduction and summary of key themes –
(the first three pages of the final paper.)
6. For the last three pages of the final paper, you must include an analysis and conclusion which should assess the respective quality and significance of the authors’ arguments stating why you agree or disagree with the articles’ claims with supporting argumentation. This will be guided by an assessment of the internal coherence of the authors’ arguments and the evidence used by the authors in support of his/her arguments.
7. You must include two relevant Internet (NOT WIKIPEDIA) references – one of which is from 2024 AND – after the Works Cited page – an attached justification for the relevance and reliability of the sources. For more information, see: http://www.kirkwood.edu/library   Phone 319-887-3612 http://www.kirkwood.edu/site/index.php?p=25544
8. You must avoid the first person (“I”, “me”, or “my” for example) and use instead the third person – even when you are expressing a preference for one argument over another in this particular assignment.
9. You must complete a both Word Count check and a Spelling & Grammar check under the Review Tab of Microsoft Word in order to flag and correct errors. (Kirkwood Tutoring Center in Cedar Rapids can assist you if you are not familiar with the software)
10. You must not plagiarize material or use generative AI in this assignment.
11. You must read your paper to yourself aloud and then correct identified errors before submitting the final draft
