Cite sources at end of journal, not sure how many pages it will take. But follow

April 22, 2024

Cite sources at end of journal, not sure how many pages it will take. But follow ALL the directions. This is a journal entry that needs to put into a document. I’d also like a plagiarism report when completed as well. Thank you
Here are the directions, please read them carefully and be sure it’s complete before turning  it in:
Your project this term requires that you  find 20 stories regarding  actual cases where a person committed a crime, was charged and convicted, and was sentenced for the crime. You will then provide 20 journal entries, one for each story.  Entries must include Criminal Cases involving at least each of the following categories/types of crimes:
Crimes against Persons: Homicide    (at least 2 cases)
Crimes against Persons: Assault, Sex Offenses, and Other Crimes (at least 2 cases)
Property and Computer Crimes (at least 2 cases)
Crimes against Public Decency and Morality (at least 2 cases)
Crimes involving more than 1 offender — more than one person was charged and convicted  (at least 2 cases)
Crimes involving  Terrorism and/or Human Trafficking (at least 2)
Crimes that occurred in Iowa (or your home state) (at least 2)
Crime that occurred in another country(at least 1)
The other 5 crimes can be anything of your choosing.
Then, with each entry please include
News Piece Summary:  Title of the news story in which a a crime was committed and an offender was found guilty. Fully summarize the article, including the facts/circumstanced and the offense. Include information about the offender’s sentence when available;
Category or the Crime(s): A statement explaining what type/category of crime the offender allegedly committed (this will  overlap for some entries);
Victim Impact: State who the victim(s) is in the situation, and what harm was done to them in the action presented;
Opinion Analysis: State why this action is considered a crime…historically or in terms of current norms, argue why the an action is is defined a criminal (this may duplicate in several entries).
Citation:  Cite where you found the case so that I can find the case is needed. If you choose to use APA or MLA format your library is a great source for learning how to cite various media sources.
*I am a firm believer in offering some small choices for learners so that they can direct their own learning. As such, you may find your cases via newspapers/magazines, websites, radio programs, TV programs, etc.  Social Media is an acceptable source for this work, but must also be cited. You may not use a story we discussed in class.
-You will submit 20 entries as a Written Project Journal in ONE document via Brightspace in the Assignments area (here is Journal Project) The attachment MUST be word (.doc/.docx), PowerPoint, or pdf.
Your project this term requires that you watch the news, real crime shows/podcases, read the paper, etc., and find 20 stories regarding  actual criminal law cases. You will then provide 20 journal entries, one for each story.  Additional entry requirements can be found in the Assignment.
The goal with the journal is for you to understand and identify categories of crimes, explain the historical background and purposes of the criminal law, and explain and identify parties to a crime via research of true crime cases.
