Choose two of the following topics and write a series of short (200-250 words each) news articles as if they were written just after the discovery. For example, one could start with, “Last week Einstein’s revolutionary theory of relativity was proven right when. . . .”. Each article must give sufficient context so the reader can understand the importance of the new theory or observation, as well as a brief biography of the astronomer, as appropriate. Citations can be listed under a “Works Cited” heading, but aren’t strictly necessary.
