Overall Feedback
EMOCHE,
You have a good foundation for the beginning of your project. I liked the resources you used and the overall perspective. One area to further develop is the Strain theory section which is cursory. For both theories, include a reference as you are using external resources for defining them.
I would encourage you to include graphs or charts from your research and interpret them. This will add more detail on the data and you can use them later for the PowerPoint.
Add a comma here: Austin (3 516 crimes),
A total of 6 criteria were applied to the criteria elements listed in the rubric. Your paper demonstrated an understanding and met the following objectives:
Statement of the Problem:
Provided an overview of the issue
Explained how it affects the selected city
Included relevant criminological theories (***enhance this section and include references for external knowledge***)
Analysis of the Problem:
Outlined the scope of the issue
Used actual data related to the city and applied information from the selected scenario
Recurring trends or patterns in the data
External contributing factors (issue & data)
Internal contributing factor (issue & scenario)
Examined the root causes
(2) verall Feedback
Emoche,
A tremendous submission. Your research and critical thinking were exceptional. All of the programs and studies you identified will help understand and mitigate the issue in your project.
Objectives met:
Use relevant and scholarly resources to perform a minimum 5 – 7-page literature review
Identified at least two solutions for the issue and shared the reasoning for these approaches
Addressed how the issue has been addressed historically
Addressed how the issue is impacting communities
Identified criminological theories or best practices used by other agencies.
Explain your search strategy and provide descriptions of the types of research reviewed
Summarize the finding of the research
Determine which approach is the most appropriate for solving the issue in your selected city.
This was a good statement to include; “Rising crime rates in Chicago have been dealt with using different historical approaches, which have evolved as the times have changed. One of the historical approaches is putting community policing policies within the community. ” – When you construct your presentation and progress with the project, share some of the latest approaches being applied.
Overall organization, grammar, sentence structure, punctuation, and spelling were good.
(3).
Overall Feedback
Emoche,
You provided a detailed solution for the criminal justice issue in your selected city. You explained how this solution meets the needs of the community and potential organizational impact. Your paper was well-researched and logically presented.
**You are missing Component #2 which is the presentation of your solutions using a PowerPoint presentation.**
Specific assignment objectives met:
An explanation of each step of your plan and how you came to your decision
The overall goals of the proposal, including short term objectives and desired long term outcomes
The resources required for implementation, including staffing
The potential challenges for implementation
The expected effects on the culture of the organization
This short term statement was exceptional; “Through partnerships, this proposal will effectively mobilize Chicago’s external stakeholders to achieve the goal of crime prevention in the city, build stronger public-private linkages, and achieve zero-tolerance policing that lasts for more than ten years.” – Partnership with the community is the key to addressing many issues.
