Build a Website and Report
Choose an existing organization such as a small business, or a possible new (made-up) start-up venture. It must be marketing oriented (for-profit or not-for-profit entities are acceptable; however, the organization must be marketing something).
Build a Website
Using available website builder tools (such as Wordpress, Weebly, Wix or other builder tools), your task will be to build a 5-page website for the organization. Only free options available should be used. No computer programming knowledge is necessary for this assignment. However, please review the entirety of these project instructions before starting to build the website. You will also be required to prepare a two-page report justifying your website and additional considerations.
You should start with understanding what your primary objective for this website will be and how you plan to build value with this site. For each page, include relevant content, images/video and other design elements. Ensure you show the “value” of the product/service being marketed.
The website should include key search terms that consumers looking for the product/service the website offers would search for. Please do not “flood” the web pages with these search terms as that is not looked upon favorably by search engines.
Use a minimum of one video for the website which may be a video embedded into the website. Alternatively, it may be a background video.
Website design, use of color, and other elements should be guided by marketing concepts discussed in the chapter.
Remember to respect all ethical and legal considerations such as intellectual property as mentioned in the chapter. Do not use copyright images or trademarks of others unless permissible. Consider using free sites such as pixabay.com or pexels.com to obtain images or video.

STEP 1
Assess which website building tool you wish to use.

STEP 2
Sign up or follow site instructions to get set up with the tool. For example, sign up for the relevant account on the website builder tool’s website.
STEP 3
Familiarize yourself with the tool and how to create new pages, add images, apply themes and backgrounds etc. Click here for links to relevant getting started help pages for each of the tools.

STEP 5
Create an “About Us” Page. Click here for samples.

Create a “Products/Services” Page.

Create one other Page of your choosing (appropriate to the organization and site).
STEP 9
Create 2 separate links at the bottom of the homepage to “Terms and Conditions” and a “Privacy Policy”. Have these link to pages with the titles “Terms and Conditions” and “Privacy Policy”, however, you do not need to create the actual content for the terms and conditions or privacy policy. Do not copy and paste content for these from other sites.
STEP 10 – CREATE AND HAND IN REPORT JUSTIFYING THE PURPOSE OF YOUR WEBSITE AND WHY YOU CHOSE THAT BUSINESS.
