Go to a research database for scientific journal articles (to be discussed in class). Find two journal articles on the use of insecticidal nematodes (entomopathogenic nematodes). The articles must be about experiments that were conducted to test the effectiveness of insecticidal nematodes on insects.
PLEASE READ THIS: Articles are not suitable if they are general review articles that summarize many experiments, or if they are about anything other than nematodes that kill insects. Studies on nematodes that infest plants or have other habitats are not suitable subjects for this assignment.
For each journal article, please type your answers to the following questions and please turn in the first page of your article (it should show the title, authors, name of journal, year of publication, and abstract). Find and describe two articles for a total of 10 points.
Each person in your group must bring in different articles. Check with the other members of your group. If two people in your group have the same article, neither will get credit for it.
NOTE: You will earn 0/5 per article if the article is not suitable, if it replicates an article submitted by someone else in your group, or if identifying information about the article is missing. Please read all instructions above.
1. Briefly describe the experiment in your article. Tell whether it was a field or lab experiment and which species were used. Tell other pertinent information such as sample size (2 pts).
