As she sat down at her desk, a mix of excitement and nervousness washed over her. She has both hopes and fears relating to this new position. Sarah hopes to be able to lead her new team collaboratively to achieve their goals and make use of the opportunities that come from having people from different backgrounds and with a range of different skills. She has worked in several countries in her own career and is looking forward to this new chapter in her life. However, she also recognises that there will be challenges to be overcome to build and lead a successful team working across cultures and time zones around the world.

Muhammad Yusuf’s heart raced as he read the acceptance letter from the University of the West of England. It was a moment he had been dreaming of for years. Born and raised in Lahore, Pakistan, Muhammad has always harboured a deep passion for science and technology. Now, with this opportunity to study abroad, he is both excited and nervous.
He tries to imagine what it will be like to live and to study in another country that is very different from his own. He is determined to be successful and to achieve a good degree.
But Muhammad knows that achieving his goals will require hard work, dedication, and resilience. He is prepared to face challenges along the way, whether it be adjusting to life in a new country, overcoming academic hurdles, or managing the pressures of student life. Yet, he remains undeterred, fuelled by his passion for learning and his unwavering determination to succeed.
