Assignment
Imagine that you were tasked to redesign a consumer expenditure survey that tracks pricing for Internet service plans. The old survey consists of two parts:
A quarterly personal visit interview to a sample of households in major metropolitan cities across the nation.
A collection of a two-week diary of Internet usage, which asks respondents to track their online shopping patterns.
These two survey methods combined provide information on the buying habits of American consumers, including data on their expenditures, income, and household characteristics. The survey data are collected to provide the basis for revising the weights and associated pricing samples for the Consumer Price Index.
The problem faced by your organization is declining participation rates and a high respondent burden. Senior leaders have asked for advice on securing an optimal survey to replace the existing process. Regardless of the way the survey program is redesigned, it is essential to have a survey that maximizes timeliness without affecting the data quality.
Prepare a PowerPoint presentation in which you propose a new survey method to replace the existing two-part survey of consumer habits.
Incorporate appropriate animations, transitions, and graphics as well as “speaker notes” for each slide. The speaker notes may be comprised of brief paragraphs or bulleted lists.
Support your presentation with at least five scholarly resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources may be included.
Length: 12-15 slides (with a separate reference slide)
References: Include 4 scholarly resources.
Notes Length: 100-150 words for each slide
Be sure to include citations for quotations and paraphrases with references in APA format and style where appropriate. Save the file as PPT with the correct course code information.
Upload your document and click the Submit to Dropbox button.
