Attached is the project template, samples, as well as datasets to choose from. You can search for your own from BLS.gov, NIH.gov, or any other interest you may have. Attached are student examples .pdf, datasets .xlsx, and the Template .docx.
The first thing to do is select a dataset. Then search the web for information regarding that dataset. For example, the diamond dataset. Where do they come from? How are they marketed? What is the history of the diamond business? etc. About a page in a word.doc. You are teaching ME (your audience) about the context of your data.
(NOTE – the sample projects show all the data, analysis, etc are in Word. The best suggestion is to complete your quantitative analysis in Excel and write any TEXT in Word. For example – under Data Analysis you can say “See attached spreadsheet” and submit a word.docx and an Excel.xlsx spreadsheet. This prevents wasting time formatting everything from Excel to Word. (you decide – you can handle it all however you choose! You are professional decision-makers and problem-solvers in training!! 😎

The data include the name of the college or university, the year the institution was founded, the tuition and fees (not including room and board) for the most recent academic year, and the percentage of full time, first-time bachelor’s degree-seeking undergraduate students who obtain their degree in six years or less (The World Almanac, 2012))
