Quantitative Example Narrative
I plan to utilize a survey to measure the training efficacy in my organization disseminated to a population that consist of _____. The survey is from Doe (2019) and they utilize five (5) items to measure training efficacy with a Likert scale ranging from 1-agree to 5-strongly agree. A sample item is “Leaders in my company ensure all new employees are assigned a mentor upon day one in the company.”
Qualitative Example Narrative
I plan to utilize a focus group to assess the training efficacy in my organization to a group consisting of _____. I am replicating Smith’s (2018) article where the researcher conducted a focus group with 8 mid-level managers. The 10 focus group questions were administered to employees who had been with the company no longer than 1 year. The results of the focus group were categorized into themes and used to determine if the training assisted the new employees to be more productive to the company after the first year of employment. A sample focus group question was “What examples can you provide that demonstrates your initial training when you arrived to the company helped you to be beneficial to the company?”
Mixed Methods–(could be a narrative that incorporates the two above and described accordingly. For this approach, make sure you state how the qualitative supports the quantitative or vice-versa)
MY Research TOPIC: The proposed research focuses on finding the possible challenges that King County teens may experience as a barrier to the reach of these facilities where mental health care is offered. The participants will comprise teenagers within this region who have sought or contemplated these services. In this study, we will now focus on barriers to access, considering the growing concern with mental health and limitations to adolescent care due to different factors, which include stigma, ignorance, and service-related factors.
