Assignment Description:
Goal: To describe how you will develop the habits of Beginning with the End in Mind and Putting First Things First.
Role: You are writing a journal reflection about how you will develop these habits.
Audience: You are writing to create a portfolio item to show managers.
Situation: You are up for promotion and want to develop an essay to show potential supervisors that you know how to use these habits.
Product/Purpose:
Patients must come first as a priority in healthcare. Create a hypothetical or real scenario where a patient is in need and describe in a journal reflection how you would make the patient the first priority. Use Covey’s book to describe how you would both begin with the end in mind and put first things first to achieve an ethical, culturally-appropriate, patient- centered, and professional outcome. Be sure to cite/reference Covey’s book in APA style.
Standards and Criteria for Success:
The case scenario must involve a patient (if real, name must be hidden) who you make a first priority. Covey’s book must be used to provide evidence to the interventions you use and properly cited. Your interventions must be ethical, culturally appropriate, patient-centered, and professional.
