Select, research and analyse two well-known contemporary or historical leaders. Use “desk-based” research and secondary data from published works (e.g. newspapers, books, academic articles, or quality internet sources) as sources for quality evidence about each leader. Include the following sections: A short Introduction; an explanation of a small number of Key Concepts on Leadership (which you will use to analyse the leaders); a short Profile section for each leader; a longer, more substantial Evidence and Analysis section for each leader, using the leadership evidence you collected plus the concepts you chose to analyse the leaders; a later section Comparing and Contrasting both Leaders; and finally, a short Conclusion. • Use the Harvard Referencing System. If you’re unsure about referencing, contact the EBS Learning Support Team. There is a PDF in BE420 Moodle explaining the Harvard Style.
• The total word count must be 2,500 words (+/- 10%), references and cover pages excluded.
• Your work needs to be grounded in academic literature. You can reference relevant academic articles, journals, and books available through the University Library. Use the BE420 Module Reading List extensively.
• Keep the use of popular sources such as blogs, Wikipedia, discussion fora, social media, and similar sites to the enrichment of context or examples. Analysis and leadership theory or concepts should be based on academic peer-reviewed sources, not blogs, social media etc.
• All text from the internet or software applications must be referenced appropriately, stating the date you “last accessed” these sources.
• Do not plagiarise. All electronically submitted work will be checked for plagiarism, and if you have copied text from other published works you may be referred for an Academic Offence. Do not plagiarise. If unsure about this, ask your teachers/instructors/lecturers.
