Assignment Overview:
This six- to eight-page paper is intended to synthesize your reflections, learning, and application of materials from this course. It must include the following (I expect clearly labeled sections using the wordings in bold, as shown below):
Personal Thoughts and Perspectives – Write about your thoughts and emotions, including your spiritual values (use Christian perspective), regarding working with a person who may be at risk of suicide.
Overview of Suicidal Risk – Describe your understanding of the steps involved in a thorough suicide intervention. The summary should provide an overview of critical elements (i.e., various signs of risk), when you would refer for a higher level of care (i.e., PHP or inpatient), and a description of how you will create and use suicide safety plans with your clients.
Supervision and Consultation – Outline the appropriate use of consultation and supervision regarding suicide intervention.
Synthesis of Course – How will you use QPR, the C-SSRS, and CAMS in your clinical practice? How do you see the three working together? What multicultural AND spiritual issues would you consider when working with clients with thoughts of dying by suicide? What additional thoughts do you have regarding working with clients with suicidal risk?
Reference your textbook and at least one peer-reviewed article.
