discussion. Your initial response must address the minimum requirements and be
at least 500 words.
Minimum requirements:
1.
Select
an organization or group in which you are a member (work, school, church,
etc.). Now, locate the formal organizational chart. From the char, identify and
note the formal leadership positions (Who is in charge or makes decisions for
the organization or group? Who reports to whom?). Now, think about your
personal experience and interactions with the organization or group and explain
who is “really in charge” and who sets or influences the organization’s
or group’s vision and goals. Are the formal (documented) and informal (spoken
or through interactions) power structures identical? How are they different?
Explain.
2.
As
part of a community youth effort, leaders of local businesses have agreed to
fund a youth athletic league in your community. These leaders have asked
several community members to let them know “what the league would look
like.”
·
Use
visioning to produce an answer to their question.
·
Summarize
your vision.
·
Ideally,
who would best contribute to the brainstorming process if you had to or were
required to complete this task?
Part 2.
Review the initial responses of at
least two (2) fellow scholars in the M5 Observe & Analyze Discussion Forum
and reply to their posts. Each reply must be at least 250 words.
Minimum requirements:
1.
Examine
the power structure analysis shared by your fellow scholars. How does your
experience and analysis differ from those of your peers? What similarities do
you share with fellow scholars in your observations of power structures in
groups and organizations?
2.
Review
the youth athletic league visions proposed by your fellow scholars. What
timeframes and/or elements do they consider that might improve your proposal?
Explain the strengths of their visions and which ideas you would like to
incorporate into yours.
3.
Lastly,
assess and evaluate the experiences of your fellow scholars using PSPP. Do you
share successes or challenges similar to those with your peers when testing and
