Assignment Instructions:
Consider a situation that you are currently facing or have recently been involved in and write a reflection paper on how some of the philosophical ideas that we have covered in class so far could have helped in that situation. Do not tell me the story of how you solved a previous problem of overcame an issue. I am looking for the direct application of some of the concepts from class and how they could have or are currently making a difference.
Consider, but do not limit yourself to, things like:
– How critical thought would have limited the possible choices.
– Possible ways to overcome the constraints. (i.e. logical demonstration)
– Being able to look at things from a different perspective.
The above are only examples. Part of the idea is for you to examine yourself and find out what some of your personal constraints are. That said, I am not looking for anything overly personal. Consider everything for your personal edification, but only write about things that you are comfortable sharing. I will only be grading how well you understand and propose to apply the philosophical concepts you discuss. The more specific you connection to class material, the better your grade. Be sure to explain your thinking.

PURPOSE: This assignment helps you to identify biases, gaps, and misconceptions in your own thought processes that limit or negatively guide your thinking and how the application of philosophical concepts can help with the resolution of some of those issues.
