Assignment Instructions:
Artificial intelligence is gaining momentum in our world. The human species is said to never be
the same in a couple of generations, perhaps after the last generation. In what ways are
humans and artificial intelligence different and how will artificial intelligence change the human
species?
Note: This analysis paper must include specific research about the topic and be clearly stated.
Part 1: In your paper, students are to write about the following concepts or theories from the
major perspectives and provide examples and research throughout.
For each of the following major perspectives, students must define the concepts they are
writing about, such as the unconscious mind, free will, genetics, cognition, use the terminology
from the course textbook, as well as make connections between the concepts and humans and
AI. The topics are:
1. The unconscious and conscious mind. How might it be forever changed as a result of
integrating AI and humans? (Psychodynamic Perspective)
2. Biology: the human brain such as memory or neurochemicals. (Biological Perspective)
3. Cognition, such as problem solving, critical thinking, intelligence, language, or thought.
(Cognitive Perspective)
4. Psychological needs (see Abraham Maslow’s hierarchy of needs model). Include free will
in your discussion as well. (Humanistic Perspective)
5. Genetics and the influence of the environment on human behavior. The evolution of the
human species. (Evolutionary Perspective)
6. Learning and conditioned behavior. (Behaviorist Perspective). Students must talk
specifically about one of the three learning theories outlined in your textbook in this
section for full points.
Note:
Each section must show a link between the relationship of the perspective (and
concept) and the argument you are making about humans and AI.
The course textbook should be the primary source of information and cited
throughout the assignment for full credit.
Part 2: (a) Write your analysis of how the human species and human behavior will be forever
changed with the integration of AI and how the field of psychology will play a role in helping
humans accept AI.
Note: This paper is due by the due date. Students who do not submit by the due date will
receive and automatic zero. The paper will not be accepted after the due date. Plan your time
wisely to complete this assignment on time.
Remember to avoid plagiarism.
AI is not to be used to write this paper.
Writing Requirement:
APA Format with a title page, Introduction that briefly explains what your paper
will be about, headings for each new section, and a References page with
complete references in APA format.
Pages: Minimum of 4 pages plus a title page and a references page. Rather than
focusing on the number of pages, focus on the content and that you elaborate,
explain, and analyze the information you research.
Sources: A minimum of 3. One source must be the course textbook.
Citations are to be frequent throughout the paper.

I expect that students will use citations frequently throughout the paper.
Note: The final assignment is due by the due date specified in Canvas on the assignment
instruction page. Late assignments will receive an automatic 10% reduction for EACH DAY IT IS
LATE.

* Clearly provide in-depth analysis by bringing in research and mention sources frequently – and
citing them.
* Use headings for each new section. If you talk about the cognitive perspective, that word
should be in your heading. Double space the whole paper. Title the page with the references
“References”
* Avoid saying “I”.
* To refer to an author, cite the author’s name in text rather than saying, according to the
textbook or name some article.
* In your Introduction, please tell me what your paper will be about. Be concise.
* I’m not looking for detailed information and examples.
