  • Create a title for your presentation.

  • Identify a social problem related to inequality (race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, mental illness, income, etc.).
  • Include additional bullet points to elaborate on at least one objective condition and one subjective concern related to the social problem.
  • Audio: Provide a detailed explanation of the social problem you have chosen and explain why you have chosen this particular social problem.

  • Identify three influences that contribute to the emergence of this social problem.
  • Cite a specific resource for each influence that supports this claim.
  • Audio: Describe how each influence directly relates to the social problem.

  • Identify at least two legislations aimed at addressing this social problem.
  • Include additional bullet points to elaborate on the key concepts of the legislation.
  • Audio: Explain how each legislation can help reduce or eliminate the inequality within your identified social problem.

  • Explain each of the three theories as it relates to the social problem.
  • Audio: Discuss in detail how each theory (symbolic interactionalism, functionalism, and conflict theory) may perceive the social problem.

  • Identify three actions a human service professional can take when faced with inequalities within a social problem.
  • Audio: Explain how you, as a human services professional, can implement these actions to advocate for those negatively impacted by the inequalities within your identified social problem.

  • Include at least five academic references in APA format. Two of these should be for the legislation and three should be for the influences.
