In this assignment, you will assist other teachers in their professional growth by highlighting your knowledge of the significance of assessment in the cycle of effective teaching as well as how rubrics help engage, support, and improve student learning.
Write a minimum 525-word blog post for the “Professional Development (PD) for Teachers” section of your school district’s website. In your blog post:
Explain the role of assessment in the cycle of effective teaching.
Define qualitative and quantitative data, including examples of each and an explanation of how they are used to improve teaching and learning.
Explain the importance of using rubrics in assessment, including an explanation of how they engage and support student learning.
Provide a side-by-side comparison of an effective and an ineffective rubric to illustrate the importance of quality rubrics.
Include visuals, graphics, and/or examples to support your blog post.
Cite sources to support your blog post, and format your citations and references according to APA guidelines.
