Assignment Brief
Sustainable supply chains are vital to the future of our planet and to shape a fairer, brighter and net carbon future.
Imagine you are a chief supply chain officer presenting to your C-Suite colleagues in the boardroom. Based on your supply chain, or one you are familiar with, produce a diagnostic report in the form of a presentation pitch (10-15 minutes) on how to make your supply chain more sustainable and achieve organisational ESG ambition. Include a review of the current state, key gaps and considerations for transforming your supply chain.
The presentation pitch must include:
An introduction to the organisation, the supply chain and identification of the key stakeholders that the pitch is oriented to.
Draw on relevant content, toolkits and theories from class, consider:
The definition of the supply chain in question and how it creates value for the customer. Is it strategically aligned to support the corporate strategy? (Week 1)
Describe what the current state looks like visually, geographically and globally. (Week 2)
Assess the ‘current state’ and gaps / risks from an ESG perspective. (Week 3)
What are the opportunities for transformation and to build a more sustainable and ethical supply chain for the future? (Weeks 4 and 5)
What are the key steps and considerations to implement and lead this supply chain transformation? (Week 6)
Tips for Presenting
Stick to the 3 Ps (Preparation, Planning, Performance).
Make sure to do your research thoroughly beforehand.
Understand your audience and engage them.
Make sure to speak slowly and articulate clearly.
Tell a compelling story to keep engagement.
Keep it short, interesting and to the point.
Back up your arguments with theory and frameworks.
Deliver impact and action.

Creating your Presentation Video
You may wish to do one of the following:
A video presentation in which you appear, supported by a set of visual aids, eg produced in PowerPoint. A maximum of six slides.
A slideshow presentation in which you narrate your analysis, evaluation and recommendations. For help with this process, an example of how to produce a narrated slideshow is provided in the link below. A maximum of six slides.

But you are not limited to these, we encourage you to be innovative and explore other platforms to meet the assessment objectives.
The application of the concepts, frameworks, models and tools to support the analysis, evaluation and recommendations should be your own original work and not be an application, analysis, evaluation or recommendations taken from another source.
The term ‘organisation’ is being taken to include corporate and business / business unit levels.
A case study organisation from a textbook is not a suitable choice.
Data for the overview of the organisation and the application of concepts, frameworks, models and theories might be drawn from a variety of credible sources including published company reports, company web pages, trade association reports, the business press, etc.
