As we examine the forms and models of government, you will see that they vary considerably between states and between localities and regions within a state. Please choose a level of your local government to evaluate. It can be anything below the state level, i.e., county, municipality, township, village, etc.
****Develop a poster telling about your local or regional government. Include the following:
Is it a city-manager model? Is there a council? What powers do they hold? Is there a strong mayor model? How do the different components of the government interact? Finally, evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of this form compared to others. ****
Since you need to prepare a poster for this assignment, you won’t have to do as much writing as would be needed for a paper. But you still need to address the basic information.
If you are not familiar with academic posters or “poster sessions”, please see these guidelines. A poster is just a visual display of your evaluation, highlighting the important points so that someone walking by your poster can visually understand your findings. I am not looking for a professional graphic design, but some of the tips in these websites will help you create a clear, concise presentation of your findings.
