Connect with someone in your life who works in a professional capacity – a friend, a family member, or a member of your local community – and interview them about their experience with diversity, inclusion, and communication in their workplace. You may identify your own questions to ask, or you can use the following questions:
What positive changes have you seen happen in your workplace around diversity and inclusion over the past five years?
What negative changes have you seen happen in the workplace?
How have these changes impacted the way employers communicate with their employees and their potential employees?
How have they impacted the way employees communicate with each other?
Compare the responses from your interviewee to the advice provided in the textbook. What similarities and differences did you find?

Write in the third person – this means not using “I,” “we,” “our,” “us,” “you,” or “your.” Writing this way helps you remain objective.
