professional, it is likely that at some point in your career you will interview
for a management position with a program that focuses on providing services for
children ages zero to three (and their families). This assignment helps you
prepare for that likely possibility. You will utilize the knowledge gained from
the course thus far, in addition to utilizing the text and relevant resources
provided, to create a presentation that you will present as part of a job
interview. In order to impress the hiring committee, you should make your
presentation look professional and integrate current research on your selected
topic from the five options provided to you in the prompt below. You really
want this management position; it is your dream job. This presentation is your
opportunity to shine.
Prompt
You are one of the final
applicants being considered for a management position at a zero-to-three
community-based program. They have asked you to come in for a final day of
interviews and to present on one of the following topics of your choice:
emotional development, temperament, attachment, caregivers and interaction with
infants, or Piaget’s theory of development. You must demonstrate your expertise
on the topic in an engaging way in order to have a chance to obtain this job.
Your presentation must
demonstrate your knowledge and understanding on the topic, including current
and/or relevant research, stages involved, and a community-based program or
school that would work with an infant on the topic. As an example, would Early
Head Start or another program help a child and/or parent in learning about
attachment?
Specifically, the
following critical elements must be addressed:

Your presentation must
contain 5–7 slides using Google Presentation (Google Docs), PowerPoint, Prezi,
or some other presentation tool, with notes in the notes section (or in a
separate Word document if the presentation tool you use does not have an area for
notes) that would be helpful to you during the presentation. Your presentation
should also include references, as needed, in APA format.
