Argumentative Paper Annotated Bibliography Requirements (20 points)
You are required to have a minimum of 8-10 sources for the Argumentative Paper. In the annotated bibliography, you do not have to list every source you consulted. However, you must list all the sources that you will be using in your paper.
Unlike a regular bibliography, an annotated bibliography, is a list of books, articles, scholarly journals, web pages, videos, and other sources you used in your paper. Each citation is followed by a brief descriptive and evaluative paragraph, the annotation. The purpose of the annotation is to inform the reader of the basic ideas, relevance, and quality of the sources cited. Refer to the student sample posted in the content for help in formatting the Annotated Bibliography.
Basic format of an annotated bibliography (You must do this for each source):
1- Cite the source in MLA Format: Use a free automated citation generators such as
easybib, mybib.com, the OWL Purdue, or zoterobib.
2- Provide a brief summary or description of each work: Who is the intended
audience? What is the topic, stance and scope of the source?
3- Evaluative comments: This is where you describe the credibility of your source.
Does it address multiple perspectives? Who is the authority and what is that
person’s credentials? You can also discuss the source’s strengths and its limitations.
4- How will this source inform your project: Explain how the source aligns with
your topic and how you expect to use it. Does it provide a certain perspective you
need, and/or does it relate to another source or idea(s)? How does it contribute to your understanding of the topic?
