Should there and COULD THERE be a federal
mandate requiring health care workers to have received immunizations against
certain communicable diseases (e.g. measles, mumps, rubella, influenza, COVID)?
In your response you MUST show proficiency with the concept of federalism.

The Triple Aim Model includes three (many would
say four) elements. They include:

Reducing the per capita cost of care
b.
Improving population health
c.
Improving quality of care (The model includes
patient satisfaction as part of quality of care. Some would argue this is a
fourth element.)
Provide your reasoned opinion (meaning with
reference support) why you either do or do not believe these three can be
achieved simultaneously.

Select a country’s health care system you
believe the U.S. should strive toward.
a.
Provide reasons for your selection.
b.
Provide why you do or do not believe the U.S
could adopt your selection’s model.

We have discussed in class the positive and
negative aspects of different payment systems for health services (e.g. fee-for
service, value based reimbursement, capitation, negotiated rates of payment
between insurer and provider, global payment systems, payment by disease
episode, etc, etc.). Many of these currently exist at the same time, resulting
many would argue in the provision of disparate care and potentially disparate
care outcomes.).
Presuming you were testifying to a joint
session of Congress, provide your recommendation for what you consider to be
the ONE best system of reimbursement. In
your testimony you will need to provide justification for you recommendation.
