In what ways will the principles of TeamSTEPPS assist you in your regards as an advanced practice nurse about communication effectiveness?
Because of everything I’ve learned about communication techniques and how crucial they are to the design of a communication exchange, the TeamSTEPPS model will help me in my work as an advanced practice nurse. My communication style should reflect the situation, and I will respond appropriately. This model also taught me the value of both verbal and nonverbal communication and how each should be presented in a coordinated manner. Active listening is, in my opinion, one of the most crucial areas in which this model will enable me. Encourage effective communication since listening plays a crucial role in the communication process. Additionally, this model will assist me by understanding appropriate email communication practices and how easily those might be misunderstood. In the end, all the communication techniques will contribute to more efficient communication and increased patient safety.
Which of the modules and tools did you find most helpful for supporting teamwork and collaboration, and why?
The iSBAR approach is, in my opinion, the most beneficial technique for promoting teamwork and collaboration. This method can be applied in almost any circumstance and offers a foundation for all members of the healthcare team. The patient can also be instructed in it, and they can communicate information about their care to others by using the iSBAR approach. You have all the information you need to communicate their information to other healthcare team members, doctors, and coworkers when you use this strategy. To guarantee that important information is communicated accurately, this model facilitates clear and concise communication. This form of communication enhances patient safety and outcomes while lowering errors.
