Write a two to three page, four or five paragraph, pop culture analysis essay.
Analyze your pop culture source’s view of diversity in the U.S. today.

Begin your essay with a brief introduction, four to six sentences. The first sentence should “hook” the reader, while sentences 2, 3, and 4, can provide context for your analysis or address opposing viewpoints. The final sentence in your introduction is your thesis statement, which will clearly identify the pop culture source you are analyzing, the purpose / relevance of your analysis, and your subtopics and organizational strategy.
Body paragraphs begin with topic sentences that state their subtopic and its relevance, as organized in the thesis. In every body paragraph you will cite and analyze at least two pieces of evidence (quotes, paraphrases, brief summarized ideas / images / scenes) from your primary, pop culture source to support your topic sentence. Evidence must be introduced, cited, and analyzed (integrated).
In addition to evidence from your primary source, you will integrate one, or at most two pieces of evidence (quote of paraphrase), from your secondary source into your essay, to support your own analysis.
Include a works cited page with an MLA citation for your pop culture source and your one secondary source.
All Writing Assignments are written in present tense and employ objective third person point of view. MLA uses 12 point font and double spacing.
Submit assignments in Word document files. Do Not cut and paste your assignment into the text box.
Submit your American Pop Culture Analysis Essay, with MLA formatting and a 2016 MLA works cited page, online in Blackboard before midnight (11:59 p.m.) on the due date.
Caveats:
*Analyze the same primary pop culture source that you summarized in Week 2. Revise the key sentences you created Week 3, based on my feedback, and use them in your essay.
Do Not Plagiarize. Use MLA documentation to cite every quote, paraphrase, and summarized idea from your sources.
Do Not cite more than two sources (one primary and one secondary) in this assignment! You should know the difference between a primary and secondary source!
Do Not choose a secondary source that analyzes your pop culture source’s words and images for you (non-academic websites). Use academic evidence that supports your own original analysis
Analyze your pop culture source’s view of diversity in the U.S. today.
