-Related Information: The 1970s were undoubtedly a difficult time for U.S. presidents. Between the tense foreign and domestic issues there were a lot of problems the Presidents had to face. These issues, however, weren’t only faced by one president, because no president fully resolved certain issues, they continued to exist into following presidencies. 3. In your opinion, which president Nixon, Ford, or Carter was most responsible for their bad reputation?
-Related Information: It is clear that Nixon, Ford, and Carter all faced many problems and a lot of backlash during their time as President. This was due to many reasons such as economic problems, illegal actions, secret missions, private decisions, and much more. 4. In what was did the Vietnam War change the U.S.?
-Related Information: Under the Presidency of Eisenhower, the U.S. would get involved in the Vietnam War. It wouldn’t be until President Nixon started bringing U.S. soldiers back home, as he felt that this was a battle they will not win. However, entering the war already had an effect on the U.S. as it divided the nations people. It also had the ability to undermine America’s power to other countries, making the U.S. appear weak. Citizens that were against the war, specifically sending U.S. troops, saw it as unnecessary and that it was sending men to their deaths. They wanted to promote peace and eventually evolved the way society viewed things. How else did the Vietnam War affect the nation afterwards? What is the Vietnam Syndrome? Did it affect the U.S. socially, politically, and economically?
