Analyze and explain some similarities and more importantly differences.

International Project: Group Components
This project provides opportunities to practice a number of skills including:
Encouraging students to research a different healthcare system
Applying critical thinking skills using class terms in analyzing both the U.S. system and another system.
Working with peers to produce an electronic presentation which affords students practice with groupwork – a real world skill!
Allowing students to practice public speaking through the presentation.

The overall point of the assignment is to show your understanding
of the U.S. healthcare system, introduce and educate others about
another country’s system, then compare the two. Draw
conclusions from your research.

Clearly this is a broad topic so you must be clear and concise in
what you focus on.

Present an analysis of the U.S. system which includes factors
such as: what works? What doesn’t? Why? What are some
special facets of the system. Be sure to use TERMS FROM
CLASS and CONCRETE EXAMPLES

Do the same for the country of your focus.

Then analyze and explain some similarities and more importantly
differences. WHY do you think they exist? HOW do they
deliver care? WHAT is important for us to know about this
country and how their system of healthcare developed? These
are just some examples of ideas to get you started.

Use the video to add a creative element to your presentation.
You have flexibility in making the video (within the time limits).
However you MAY NOT take one directly from the internet. The
video requires an original creation. Having said that, you can use
video software, clips from the internet, make a short movie, etc…

The video should not simply summarize your presentation. It
should add something new and different to the discussion.
My Group and I chose New Zealand.
The Topic I have to focus on are
Advantages/Disadvantages to New Zealand Healthcare System
– Role of Government in US and NZ Healthcare System…
Role of Government in US and NZ Healthcare System
Please remember, we have to do voice-overs on our PowerPoint. We also have to include one self-made video (not from the internet). I don’t know how to do that. Any suggestions?
Our goal is to: present an analysis of the U.S. system and the country of our choice which includes factors such as: what works? What doesn’t? Why? What are some special facets of the system. Be sure to use TERMS FROM CLASS and CONCRETE EXAMPLES (Kind of like a Pros & Con List) We must compare and contrast the health care systems the US and the other country. We must also come up with conclusions and recommendations while also noting the similarities and differences. We must be clear, concise and use specific examples!
