In Chapter 7, deviance is defined as” behavior that violates the standards of conduct or expectations of a group or society”. As I included in my audio recordings, “the one characteristic shared by those who are widely regarded as deviant is a stigma – “the mark of social disgrace that set the deviant apart from those who consider themselves normal”. Your book defines stigma as “a label used to devalue members of certain social groups”.
3. This entire topic and social issue of children for sale is considered both criminal and deviant by sociologists.

“The emphasis on everyday behavior is the focus of the Interactionist perspective offers an explanation: cultural transmission theory”. Sutherland’s (Pg. 164-165 in your E-Book), emphasizes that “one learns criminal behavior by interacting with others. He uses the term differential association to describe “the process through which exposure to attitudes favorable to criminal acts leads to the violation of rules. He views improper behavior as the result of the types of groups to which one belongs and the kinds of friendships one has”.
