Students will view the following videos regarding what it is like to be a social worker and will write a 3-4 page reaction paper. The following questions must be answered in the reaction paper:
After viewing the videos what is your personal insight into the workday of a social worker?
What do you think are the pros and cons of being a social worker?
What are thoughts about the social workers who do not care about their jobs or protecting their clients? How do you prevent being that type of social worker?
Describe specific ways the social workers in the videos deal with various clients in their respective environments.
How often do you think social workers, such as the ones in the videos rely on the social work code of ethics?
Based on the videos and what you have learned in class, what are some of the barriers that vulnerable and special populations face?
Do you think continuing education is important for social workers? If so, why and how is it achieved?
As a social worker please explain how you will be committed to social and economic justice.
