After talking to a bigshot filmmaker about your idea for a movie you are asked to submit a proposal. Choose one of the following movie genres based on personal experience. Let your own life be a guide to the overarching theme so that when the film opens it states: Based on a True Story. Humanity vs. Technology.
–Make up a title for your movie. Be creative and don’t use any titles that have been used by the film industry.
–Describe the plot. Remember that a pitch is brief.
–Name the protagonist? What is their goal? (Define the term “protagonist” according to the textbook reading.)
–Name the antagonist? What is their goal? (Define the term “antagonist” according to the textbook reading.)
–Describe the setting and time period?
–All stories include a conflict and a resolution. Describe the conflict and how it is resolved in your film. (Define the terms “conflict and resolution” according to the textbook reading.)
–Indicate knowledge of the textbook reading this week on cinema.
Students need to refer to the terms, phrases and concepts from the readings in the textbook indicating knowledge of the definitions and meanings.
–In text citation and a list of references are required.
Word Count Minimum: 250. You can go over this minimum.
Use good grammar and mechanics, and proper citation of sources. Do not use filler words such as “I think,” “In my opinion,” or “I feel.”
