After researching the views on the issue of your choice, you need to prepare:
8 slide presentation (including a reference slide, references not to be older than 5 years) with the following components in mind. There are additional resources in our learning materials folder you may find helpful (Readings tab).
Each content slide should include text and images/graphics to help visually convey your information.
Be sure to cite any researched information as needed on each slide and include a reference slide at the end of your presentation with APA formatted references. You should include 6 citations from these 3 resources (see demo below).
The presentation should be 4-5 minutes in length.
DEMO LAYOUT:
Slide 1: Title slide (This slide will not count towards content)
Slide 2: Topic overview and general background (should include at least 2 scholarly citations to validate overview and background)
Slides 3-5: History of perspectives (this includes you sharing the general debates that have surrounded the topic in the past. Include at least 2 scholarly citations to substantiate the perspectives).
Example: “In the past, people have not been in favor of strict dress codes.”
Slides 6-7: Specific opposing viewpoints (include viewpoints that are opposite of one another; i.e., what are the specific viewpoints for this topic and against this topic. Note that the history and opposing viewpoints may overlap a bit. This section should include at least 2 scholarly citations).
Example: “Some people believe girls should have a strict dress code, while some believe that boys should have a more general dress code.”

Slide 8: Personal perspective (include a professional or scholarly statement that represents your personal viewpoint as an educator).
