Choose one of the following prompts. Using at least threeof the assigned readings from the course, answer the prompt fully in 1500-2000 words. Be sure that your answer clearly defines any key terms used in the prompt. Upload your work as a .doc or .docx file to the appropriate folder on the course website.
How is globalization tied to notions of modernity? Be sure to define each concept, clearly demonstrate how they are connected, and illustrate how they are a part of Pan-Africanism, African diaspora discourse, and/or Afropolitanism. Provide specific examples from the texts to illustrate your claims.
What role do African diasporic resources play in how individuals and/or communities define “home”? How, if at all, do African diasporic resources help to create or express a sense of belonging. Provide specific examples from the texts to support your claims.
In what ways have discourses like Pan-Africanism, African diaspora, and Afropolitanism provided a sense of belonging and in what ways have people felt marginalized within these discourses? Provide specific examples from the texts to support your claims.

Use your sources. Quote the text(s) when necessary. In addition to using at least three assigned readings from the syllabus, you may (but are not required to) use other sources. Explain how you have arrived at any and all conclusions you make. Choose your language carefully. Be clear and succinct. Grammar is important. The structure of each sentence and each paragraph guides the reading of your writing. Small mistakes can derail a reader and leave your work open for misinterpretation. Be sure to proofread your work before you turn it in.
Format your work using Times New Roman 12 point font and 1 inch margins. Make sure your name is on your work. Cite all ideas, phrases, or quotes that are not your own. Include full references for each source at the end of your paper. (Chicago Style is preferred, but not required). Upload your work as a .doc or .docx file to the appropriate Assignments folder of the course website at icollege.gsu.edu by April 25. Please be mindful of the course’s late policy.
