Objective: Develop an advocacy toolkit addressing a specific issue related to psychology and gender. The toolkit should encompass a discussion of
scientific findings, critical perspectives, and strategies for advocates to promote the chosen issue(s).
Components:
1. Scientific Foundation (15%)
• Summarize and discuss at least three pertinent psychological research studies or theories related to your chosen issue (Approx. 400-500
words).
• Clearly articulate how the scientific foundation informs your understanding of the issue and its psychological implications.
2. Critical Perspectives (15%)
• Analyze various perspectives on the issue, considering the diversity of opinions on how to address it. (Approx. 400-500 words)
• Specifically, explore differing viewpoints on your chosen issue, particularly experienced by gender-diverse individuals, and critically assess the
implications of these perspectives.
3. Advocacy Strategies (10%)
• Propose and discuss practical advocacy strategies informed by psychological principles. (Approx. 300-400 words)
• Explore steps that can be taken to advocate for changes, such as improvements in funding, increased attention in research and practice,
political intervention, and other relevant means.
Submission Guidelines:
• Ensure the toolkit adheres to the specified word limits.
• Submit the toolkit as a well-organized and coherent document via the course platform by the specified deadline.
• A cover page and a reference page are required, and cite all sources using APA 7th edition format.
