Over the past three weeks, two-year-old Hannah has bitten nearly every other child in her group at least once, some several times. Although it is your policy not to reveal the name of the child who bites, the children who can talk have told their parents. The lead teacher for Hannah’s group has come to you in tears, threatening to quit because angry parents have upbraided her publicly for failing to protect their children. Now a group of parents is demanding that you expel Hannah. You happen to know that Hannah’s parents have been under a great deal of stress since the factory where they both work has announced it will be closing soon.
