Abstract:
This experiment shows the resistance of series and parallel circuits while using resistors, a light bulb and electrical components. In this experiment it is predicted and measured the resistance value while discussing the potential differences of the experiment. It also shows the energy flows while considering the scenarios (hypothetical) of using superconducting wires. The experiment compares the measured resistance and the calculated one while experimenting and observing reasons for the differences, as well as the energy flow in the circuits. It focuses on the impact of the superconducting wires on the circuit being performed and applies that to the Ohm’s Law to explain the reaction of the light bulb.
Introduction:
To understand the relationship between series and parallel, we look at the electric circuits. The current parallel circuit will be greater due to reduced total resistance. It is predicted that the parallel circuit will be greater due to reduced total resistance which sets the stage by outlining the objective, posing questions and introducing the concept of resistance in circuits.
Prediction:
Our predictions are rooted in fundamental physics, employing equations and logical reasoning. We expect a higher current in the parallel circuit due to reduced overall resistance. The theoretical background is presented in a clear and concise manner.
Procedure:
The lab report material included:
Lab Equipment:
Digital Multimeter (DMM)
3 resistors
6 volt battery
banana cables
light bulb
The experimental setup involves resistors, a bulb, and various circuit configurations. The procedure details the steps for data collection, highlights the importance of measurement uncertainties, and briefly mentions potential systematic errors. The language is straightforward and avoids unnecessary details. Ohm’s Law (V = I * R) states that with reduced resistance, an increase in current occurs for a constant voltage .
Graphs and Tables:
The graph below shows a clear and well rounded graph to show what’s happening as the resistor is logged into the energy collecting the data of number for the following units amps/current, ohms, and voltage. Each plot of the graph includes x-axis and y-axis to make it clear to read, it shows when the number was the highest and at what unit which resistor which makes it helpful to read. The figures provide seamless integration of visual and textual information.
