A short introduction that leads to or includes your current research questions. It’s okay if these questions are different from the last time you wrote them.
A careful description of all that was interesting and relevant (to your research questions) in what you have found in your research, what sources you found and what ideas are present there, and why these findings matter to your question and your overall project. Your descriptions of your research must include an introduction of the titles and authors of your sources, and you must use summary, paraphrase, and direct quotes from your sources. BIG NOTE: you only NEED to include four (4!) of your sources in this findings section. You of course can choose to include all six of your sources here if you want. But, you need at least 4 of the 6 to get full points. And I suggest you include the 4 sources that you find most interesting or the 4 sources that are most relevant to your questions. You might also consider separating your findings (your sources) into groups based on trends and patterns, themes, debates and conflicts, crucial publications and people in your topic’s field, and any gaps or information you feel is missing in your research. This could be done continuously in the body of your Findings Section or you could split it up using subheadings. Feel free to answer any of these questions when writing your findings section:
Are there any common ideas from across your sources? If so, what are they?
How do the pieces of your research support or contradict each other?
What do you notice about the words people use in interviews, in research articles, in online articles? When they are talking about similar topics, do they use different words to describes similar things?
3. A Works Cited page including all of the sources used in your Findings Section that adheres to MLA guidelines
Basically, the Findings Section is where you tell me, in flowing paragraph form, what you FOUND in your research. You are not judging or evaluating or telling me what you think of what you found. Not yet–that will be for the Discussion Section. The Findings section is just a section where you tell me all about the things you found. This means introducing the articles and authors from your sources and your research. And it also means using quotes from those sources and weaving those quotes into your writing.
