A Portfolio (2,500 words, weighting: 100%) including a) a lesson plan for teaching specific vocabulary items in English to pre-school children, b) a lesson plan for teaching school-aged children specific grammatical elements in English, and c) a lesson plan for teaching adult learners specific syntactic structures. The students should take into account the cultural context of the learners (i.e., English language schools in Greece) and their age. The students can select a specific vocabulary category in the 1st case (e.g., clothes, colours, etc.), a specific grammatical element in the 2nd case (e.g., simple present tense) and a specific syntactic structure (e.g., direct vs. indirect speech). The rationale for the chosen teaching methods should be justified. Any teaching material can be included in an Appendix, properly referenced (100%). The following indicative outline might be of help: Introduction (100 words approximately) electronic feedback Brief statement of the aim of the assignment. Brief presentation of the structure of the assignment. Part 1 – Lesson Plan – Teaching vocabulary to pre-school children (800 words approximately) Design a lesson plan for teaching a specific set of words of your choice to pre school learners, taking into consideration the cultural context and their age. Part 2 – Lesson plan – Teaching grammar to school-aged children (800 words approximately) Design a lesson plan for teaching a specific grammatical form of your choice to school-aged learners, taking into consideration the cultural context and their age. Part 3 – Lesson plan 3 – Teaching syntax to adult learners (800 words approximately) Design a lesson plan for teaching a specific syntactic structure of your choice to adult learners, taking into consideration the cultural context and their age.
