This should be brief and to the point, reflecting the nature of your dissertation. It does not have to be exact at this stage and may change once the dissertation is finished.
Introduction:
Set the scene for your study in giving some background to the topic area, this issue in the real world, some relevant statistics & some key related literature. This should also include an aim that is clear and reflect the purpose of your research
(Why are you doing this work?).
Key Concepts / theoretical perspectives / indicative literature:
What has gone before in the literature on this topic? What are the key concepts? What do we know already & how were these studies carried out? Are there any gaps in the literature?
Include a brief overview of the various themes, concepts and an outline of the theoretical background to your topic. This will help highlight the relevance and need for your research.
Methodology:
Should include qualitative research
A concise description of the planned methodology should be given explaining the design, sample, data collection and data analysis techniques to be used.
Timetable
A weekly timetable detailing a plan of action relating to all aspects linked to overall production of the dissertation needs to be mapped out and followed.
Risk assessment & ethical considerations:
Consideration of key risks and ethical challenges with regard to the study eg confidentiality, anonymity. health & safety.
