For the poetry analysis essay, choose one poem from unit 4a that you would like to research and analyze further in a poetry explication essay. (poem will be dulce et decorum est by Wilfred Owens. I will attach it.) A poetry explication begins with a thesis stating the dominant meaning of the poem and validates the argument of the thesis in supporting paragraphs that analyze the parts of the poem that create the dominant meaning.The length of the essay can be shorter than previously required this semester (aim for around 2 pages, double spaced, excluding any headers); however, the content must include an intro an thesis, followed by well a well structured body that includes the primary text, research, as well as interpretation and analysis in MLA format.
The essay must use at least one secondary, critical source from a reputable, scholarly internet resource, in MLA format (for in-text citations and the work cited page).
