The way we view the world from a biblical aspect in our life plays a important role on our desires. There is no one in the world that has never sinned, the bible just gives us guidance on how to avoid sin and be obedient to God. When I view the world from a biblical view, I take in consideration my beliefs, the way I behave and interact with people the decisions I make daily. The worldview that I am most affected by is behaviorism, as stated in the video we know the right thing to do but we don’t do it. The Bible tell us that sin has entered the world affecting everything (Etzel &Smalls,2016). My desire to drink is affected when it comes to biblical aspects as state in the bible you don’t drink to get drunk. Ephesians 5:18 “Do not get drink on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit”. I am an occasional drinker and I have drunk and gotten drunk. I know it was wrong, but I still did it.
I have experienced a conflict between having a baby our of wedlock. Me and my husband had known each other for 15 plus years before we got married. I had my daughter before marriage. We all as humans have been faced to deal with conflict form a biblical view versus a desire. 1 Thessalonians 4:3 It is God’s will that you should avoid sexual immorality (NIV). Some many of believers has fallen for lust and sexual sin. Sin can be so tempting. The bible gives us the tools to overcome our sinful desires and helps us stay faithful to God.
I have struggled in the past on only calling on God when I need him or when a problem has arrived. I had to learn that God can help us through good and bad. My mom would always say “don’t call on good when you need him, call on him all the time”. I overcame that obstacle by building a relationship with God, praying daily, reading the daily devotion, and going to church. I got my whole family involved in prayer so that we could build our relationship on a spiritual level.
