Instructions: For this assignment, you will create a PowerPoint/Prezi presentation The goal of this assignment is to describe your own theory of counseling and connect it to the assigned readings and media, and to your portfolio that you have been developing through your discussion board work throughout the course. The assignment, then, is a summary and integration of the portfolio which you have been building in your discussion board work. In this final portfolio assignment, you are gathering your work thus far and organizing it to help concretize your thinking about theory. You will discuss your beliefs about what constitutes effective counseling, how to heal psychological wounds, and how those beliefs relate to those of the theories which we have studied. Inform your final portfolio with quotes from the readings and videos, and incorporate the ideas you’ve discussed throughout your discussion board work. This is a work of integration, incorporating what you have learned in this class to describe a coherent, integrated, and comprehensive counseling model based on your theory. Your presentation is to be organized in the following manner: Your qualities as a counselor (from week 1). Be descriptive and explain how/why they are important. Feedback from your 2 friends about these qualities (from week 1). How your life and culture inform your theory. Using examples from the various course readings and videos, explain how they impacted you as a developing counselor and how they have informed/shaped your theory. Be specific! Include any other information to further illustrate how you’ve integrated the theories we’ve covered with your own developing theory. You must use voice-over throughout your presentation, for a total presentation time of ~15 minutes. Use APA style for citations and references of course readings and videos (you do not need to cite or reference your own work from the discussion board). PLEASE SUBMIT THIS ASSIGNMENT NO LATER THAN SATURDAY, MAY 2ND 12 PM (EST) PLEASE TAKE A LOOK AT YOUR TURNITIN SCORE BEFORE YOU SUBMIT A FINALIZED VERSION OF YOUR PRESENTATION!
