Identify two measurement scales

June 17, 2021
Christopher R. Teeple

please read the instruction carefully and please check the attached you will see example for what I want . if you have any question please let me know. you will be writing a research proposal. You have already chosen the topic, and written a brief literature review that will be included in your final assignment. For this discussion board, you will begin working on the measures paragraphs in your methods section for the final assignment.
1) Identify two measurement scales
A) The first should measure your specific topic of interest (in my examples, topic of interest is Major Depressive Disorder)
B) The second should measure something that you believe might be correlated with your topic of interest (for instance, I might choose Anxiety)
2) Upload the scales and an article about their reliability and/or validity in PDF format (these are frequently, but not always, one and the same), and
3) In a thread, write a paragraph for each measurement scale describing its properties, just as it would be written in a research paper. Include a reference at the bottom of the social scientist(s) responsible for developing the instrument). Anytime you describe a standardized measure in a paragraph in your research, you need to address the following:
A) The name of the measure
B) A citation of the original research paper that described the development and testing of the measure when it was created
C) The number of items (questions) in the measure
D) The reliability statistic written in parentheses (if the article from which reliability stats were taken is different than the original development article, cite the different article, otherwise it’s understood you are still referencing the original article)
E) 1-2 example questions from the measure
F) The range of response item numbers, and a description of what those response item numbers correspond to
G) A description of what a higher score means (lower or higher amounts of what??)
H) Your references written in APA style.
EXAMPLE:
Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) will be measured by the Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale (Radloff, 1977). This is a 20-item measure that asks individuals to self-report their subjective experiences within the past two weeks (a range from .85 to .90). Example questions include “I was bothered by things that don’t usually bother me” and “I felt sad”. Responses items range from 1-4, where 1 = “rarely or none of the time”, 2 = “some or a little of the time”, 3 = “occasionally or a moderate amount of time” and 4 = “most or all of the time”. Higher scores correspond to higher levels of depression.
