Basically this is a paper that uses 3 sources, the text book, the primary source (Disputation of Doctor Martin Luther on the Power and Efficacy) of Indulgences by Dr. Martin Luther (1517) and Commentary (Module 5: The Early Modern Age) The Final exam must be 4-5 pages (1,000 – 1,250 words) in length. The exam must be double-spaced, with pages numbered, include 1-inch margins, use 12-point Arial, Calibri, or Times New Roman, and include a cover/title page that includes your name, the title of the course, the name of your instructor, and “Final Exam”. The exam must include footnotes and a Bibliography page. The citation style must be Chicago/Turabian. You must cite your sources, including page numbers where appropriate. The selected sources must be appropriate to the exam topic, the citations must support the assertions made in the exam, and footnotes must be used whether quoting or paraphrasing a source. The exam should include three main parts—the Thesis/Introduction, Argument, and Conclusion. The Introduction section should clearly state the thesis within the first 1-2 paragraphs. The thesis must be relevant and appropriate to the argument and demonstrate an accurate and complete understanding of the question(s). It should do more than restate the question(s) and offer a brief response and it should be free of grammar & spelling errors. The Argument section should incorporate pertinent details from assigned coursework. You may not use any outside sources for the exam. The section must provide relevant historical evidence to support the thesis and the key claims made in the argument as needed. It should maintain focus and avoid getting sidetracked. It should present your answer(s) to the question(s) asked clearly and concisely in an organized manner and it should be free of grammar & spelling errors. The Conclusion section should be in the last part of your essay exam within the last 1-2 paragraphs. It should briefly restate the thesis and summarize the main points of the argument. It should also demonstrate insight and understanding regarding the question(s) asked and it should be free of grammar & spelling errors. A scoring rubric for the exam is included under Content => Course Resources => Writing Resources in LEO. Again, be sure to write your essay on just one of the questions listed below. Be sure to answer the question as it is written. The question I chose to discuss is below. 1.) Which one of the following three had the most lasting effects on world history: the emergence of cities and empires in Ancient Mesopotamia, the Renaissance, or the Reformation – and why? Be sure to discuss specific people, ideas and events examined during this course to support your conclusions – and to compare and contrast elements of all three historical epochs as part of your answer.
