TERM PROJECT INSTRUCTIONS:
TERM PROJECT: An in-depth managerial analysis of a selected organization. It is recommended that you
choose a publicly held Fortune 500 company because information will be more readily available. The
company that you choose should demonstrate exemplary success or you may choose a company that has
failed. Each student must choose a different company for this assignment. Please share the name of your
company with the class in the Discussion Post in the Course Project Folder in the Content Section. There
are two components to the project: Written report and a PowerPoint. Review the rubrics in Blackboard
to see how this assignment will be graded.
Issues and questions to be addressed in this assignment:
1. General Information – do not limit your response to the items below.
a. Provide the history of the company.
b. What do they sell? Do you use their product?
c. Share Mission Statement: what is your opinion of the statement?
d. Identify the company’s main customers and competitors.
e. Is the company profitable?
f. What did you learn about the history of this company?
g. Include a minimum of four other interesting facts about your company.
2. Organizational Structure and Leadership
a. Describe the formal organizational structure.
b. Profile its top leadership:
i. Name
ii. History of this leader – what makes them qualified to be CEO?
iii. What is the compensation of the CEO; is it considered fair?
iv. What is their leadership style?
v. What is the company’s corporate culture?
3. Organizational External Environments
A. To receive full credit:
1. Explain the general environment.
2. Explain the task environment.
Explain how 7 of the external factors have impacted your organization. Explain each
one separately.
4. Impact of Covid 19 on your organization
a. Explain the government mandates imposed on your company and how they were
implemented.
b. Explain 6 changes made by your company during the pandemic. This should include plans
and/or decisions made to remain competitive or to obtain a competitive advantage and can
include government mandates.
5. Innovation/Diversity
a. Discuss the role innovation has played in the company’s success or failure.
b. Discuss the diversity or the culture of the company.
6. International environment
a. Explain how the International environment affects your company.
b. If the global environment has no direct effect on your company, explain how thew
international environment impacts your company indirectly.
To receive full credit, identify and explain a minimum of three examples.
7. Sustainability
a. Discuss the organization’s commitment to the environment/natural resources.
b. Identify three initiatives the company has undertaken to demonstrate its responsibility to
our natural resources.
8. The future
a. Identify at least three threats and opportunities that the company is facing today.
b. What strategic recommendations can you make to mitigate the threats and exploit the
opportunities?
c. Assess your interest in joining this organization; would you be interested in working at this
organization? Why or why not?
a. Prepare a PowerPoint Presentation.
b. Discuss at least one aspect of each topic.
At minimum, provide at least 1 PP slide for each section in the Term Project.

LENGTH:
A minimum of five double spaced pages for the body of the report. You should also have a cover page
and a reference page, (these two pages do not count toward the five). Points will be deducted for less
than 5 full pages (4 ¼ or 4 ½ pages do not count as 5 pages).
FORMAT OF REPORT:
APA style, with in-text citations and a fully documented reference page. The report must have a header
for each section of the report. The report will be submitted into Safe Assign and will determine if any
plagiarism exists. Deductions will be made accordingly for plagiarism (see below). Double spaced one-
inch margins, 12-point font. Submit as an attached Word document. The are 10 components to the
