Writing Task Description:
This task involves writing only a “literature review” part for a research paper that will be submitted to a journal in exactly 14 days, thus requiring urgent and critical time frame task. The focus of the paper is on developing a model that produce the reasoning behind medical multiple-choice questions (MCQs). For this project, I have utilized the MEDQA dataset and have manually augmented it with 1,800 records that provide reasoning for selecting the correct answers.
The methodology includes fine-tuning different large language models (LLMs) to address the reasoning task, with the most accurate model being selected for further refinement on a larger LLM scale. The fine-tuning process incorporates both supervised finetuning SFT techniques and Direct Preference Optimization (DPO).
The literature review must reference between 30 to 40 papers that are relevant to the met the goals of this research.
