You may use knowledge and experience from
your own life and those of people you directly know. No research is required.
People’s names may be changed to keep their information private, but this must
be a factual, not fictional, paper.
Ø Essay Structure and Format:
The paper must address the topic directly and must contain an effective
introduction (with thesis), body paragraphs with topic sentences and
transitions, and conclusion. Your essay must be formatted in APA style (12
point, double spaced, title page)
Ø Audience:
Write to a specific audience. Consider who might be interested to read about
this topic, or who would need to know
about this topic. Keep this audience’s characteristics, expectations, and
information needs in mind as you write.
