Reflecting
upon the organization that you are researching in this course, does your
organization provide CORE or ADAPTIVE services?  What evidence can you
present to support your ideas?  What would your organization need to do in
terms of increasing it’s infrastructure in order to present both types of
services?
(This
question requires preliminary research regarding your organizations strategic
plan, website, social media sites, etc.)

(“think” partnerships and collaborations)?  What are the ways in which
they hold themselves accountable for the power?  Please use the readings
and preliminary research about your organization to support your response.
Please
respond to a classmate.  When responding to your classmate, please offer

Hello,
I selected the agency
Doctors without Borders to research. Based on my analysis, the organization
provides core services.  Core services are offered
during all phases of a disaster (Towe et al., 2017). The
organization’s service array is mostly focused on providing health care and
other supportive services. They do this during the disaster response and
immediate recovery phases of a disaster. They may provide services during
the long-term recovery/routine phase. However, the host nation may have
recovered enough at that point, so the organization’s support may no
longer be needed. An example of core service delivery is the
work that the organization is conducting in Sudan. They have been engaged in
the Sudan since 1979. The country has been in ongoing conflict and the
organization has had an enduring presence there. According
to the organization’s 2022 audited financials (link),Links to an external site. they had
$669 million in overall revenues, most of which came from philanthropy and
private grants. This is compared to $651 million in overall expenses. To increase
their capabilities to provide core and adaptive services they will need to
increase their fundraising efforts and attract more volunteers to provide
healthcare services in areas that have experienced a disaster.

Part 1: This week we are
focusing on collaborations and partnerships.  In your professional
opinion, and based on the readings, what are two major distinctions between
collaborations and partnerships between NP/NGOs?
Give
one example of a collaboration or partnership that worked well (in your
professional experience).  What was the key characteristic that made it
work well?  Give one example of a collaboration or partnership that didn’t
work well (in your professional experience).  What was the key
characteristic (present or missing) that caused the collaboration or
partnership to fail?
When
responding to your classmate, provide a critical analysis of their post.
How do you make meaning of the information in their post?  Are there any
assumptions being made? Is any information missing that would help you to
