MS Access Library Database
Objective:
Create a library database using MS Access to manage book information, borrowings, and libran
members.
Tasks:
1. Design the Database:
Create a new MS Access database named “LibraryDB.accdb.”
Design a single table named “Books” to store information about books in the library. Include the
following fields: Book ID (AutoNumber, Primary Key)
Title (Text)
Author (Text) Genre (Text)
ISBN (Text)
Availability (Yes/No, default to Yes)
Publication Year (Number)
Description (Memo)

Enter at least 10 sample book records into the “Books” table with varying information for each book.

Ensure that some books are marked as unavailable (Availability = No) to simulate borrowed books.
3. Design Forms:
Create a form named “Book Details” that displays detailed information about a selected book. Include fields such as Title, Author, Genre, ISBN, Availability, Publication Year, and Description.
Create a form named “Book Checkout” that allows users to check out a book by entering the member’s ID, book ID, and return date.
4. Generate Reports:
Create a report named “Available Books Report” that displays a list of available books with their details.
Create a report named “Books By Genre Report” that prompts users to enter a genre and displays all books in that genre with their details.
Submission:
Submit the following items by the due date:
A copy of your “LibraryDB.accdb” MS Access database file.
Screenshots or printouts of the queries, forms, and reports you have created.
A brief description of any challenges you faced and how you overcame them while completing this assignment.
